SILVA VALLEY CROSS COUNTRY 2025
Who can join?
All 3rd-5th grade students are welcome to join our team.
Who are the coaches?
The coaches are Cami Soetaert and Ann Cannedy, both Silva Valley teachers.
How long is the season?
The 6 week season will begin with a practice on September 3rd. There are 4 meets. Our last regular meet is on October 8. Championships (for qualifiers) are on October 15.
Where is the schedule?
The official schedule is attached and will be on the Silva Valley website. We keep it updated and will notify you via email if there are any changes.
Where and when are practices?
Practices are after school here at Silva Valley. We will run on and off-campus. Please be sure your child is wearing appropriate clothing and shoes and brings a full water bottle.
How do I get to the meets?
The district is unable to provide transportation this year due to a bus driver shortage. We highly encourage carpooling. Meets usually start at 3:30 or 4:00 and we like to meet our team there about 30 minutes before the races begin.
Who gets to run in the finals?
We will announce the qualifiers for the County Finals after we receive the results of the 4th meet. Qualification is based on participation, race times, and placement.
Can I help?
Yes! We need fingerprinted volunteers! We enjoy running off campus during practices and we need parents to help runners keep up the pace and stay safe. Also, we will need plenty of helpers when we host a meet here at Silva Valley on October 8.
Please sign and return all of the attached pages with the $45 donation to the front office by THURSDAY, AUGUST 28. This is a unique program for our elementary schools and can not exist without these donations. Checks should be made payable to Silva Valley School.
In addition, a popsicle Sign-up Genius will be e-mailed out when the season begins.
